Jennifer Sales

I’m a Doctoral candidate at UT Austin specializing in modern and contemporary Brazilian art, with a focus on experimental practices and social identities in the 1970s. My research explores video, performance, and installation art, as well as the politics of space and the intersections of queer and postcolonial theory. I’ve held research and curatorial roles at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and I served as the Blanton Museum’s 2020–2021 Andrew W.
